Thousands of VW cars in Switzerland to be recalled
Around 22,000 Volkswagen cars in Switzerland are to be recalled by the manufacturer after several models have been found to have problems with ABS anti-lock braking and EPS electronic steering systems. Around 385,000 cars in Germany are affected.
According to reports, the models involved in the recall are the VW Golf, Jetta, Audi A3 and Skoda Octavia that went on the road between 2008 and 2009. Owners of such vehicles are expected to be contacted by Volkswagen in the coming weeks.
It’s believed that the cause of the problem is a thermomechanical overload in the ABS and EPS systems, which can be fixed by a software update.
