Man jailed for robbing cash machines with secret trick
Two banks are left scratching their heads after an Algerian man was sentenced to 3 years in jail for robbing several hundred thousand francs from cash machines – but bank engineers still don't know how he managed it.
The 39 year old man was able to trick the machines into distributing notes – which he took – and then the machine registered a ‘snatch back' and re-credited the account.
Its' thought he took more than CHF 300,000 from machines owned by Raiffeisen and Credit Lyonnais in canton Vaud.
It's also thought the man used the same technique several times in France.
The man claims his innocence – but the court jailed him.
