"Unpacking" at Platforme 10

Listen Again

Monday, 18 October 2021 - 8 minutes

Platforme 10 is the brand new building in Lausanne that will soon house the Musée d'Elysée as well as mudac - the museum of design and applied contemporary art.

It will open its doors for the very first time to the public on the 6-7 November. It's a short-running exhibition, especially considering that it's taken over a year to curate.

Swiss-American artist Christian Marclay has been given carte blanche for the space for this single weekend. His own work has appeared at MoMA in NY, and the Tate in London. For this exhibit, Marclay was given access to the entire Photo Elysée archives to create this one-off exhibit. He joined us on the Breakfast Show this morning to talk about what he was looking for when he chose the images for this exhibition and how he planned to specifically use the space. He plans to create an immersive experience of photography, using projection and the architecture of the brand new building. As Marclay often works with music and sound with his own photographic work, we anticipate a sensory experience.

Christian Marclay's exhibit "Unpacking" will be open to the public on Saturday 6 November 10:00-13:00 and Sunday 7 November 10:00-22:00.
