ESCA CancerSupport offers practical help, emotional support and wellbeing activities for anybody affected by cancer, including cancer patients, their loved ones, friends and others impacted by cancer. They operate primarily in Geneva, Vaud and neighbouring France, but as activities have moved increasingly online, they've extended their reach and support further across Switzerland this year.

This year's fundraising will take place in the form of walking; steps for cancer support! Marina Teahon from ESCA CancerSupport explains more when she joins Katt Cullen on the WRS Breakfast Show.

How does this fundraising work?

The aim of ESCA's 2021 challenge is to walk around the world twice (roughly 110 million steps) in 20 days to show that support to an international community of people affected by cancer. There will also be additional weekend challenges to virtually transport participants to famous trails and to encourage everyone to increase their own personal level of physical fitness. Physical activity has been shown to reduce the possibility of relapses and recurrences of cancer. Individuals can sign up for CHF30, open teams for CHF250 and corporate teams for CHF 1000, thus also donating money to a great cause in the region. You can also make a donation.
