Join us for Gabriela Montero’s new concert, a musical journey from Bach to contemporary Caribbean music !

OAKS’ second edition will take place on September 21, 2019 at Victoria Hall at 8 pm and will be the occasion for renown pianist Gabriela Montero to present her brand new Ensemble.

The quintet, composed of the pianist and four young South American musicians, is premiering at Victoria Hall before embarking on a European tour. Entitled "ReInventions", the concert will pay tribute to J.S. Bach, whose work will inspire a musical journey through time and culture, from European baroque to contemporary Caribbean music.

After having interpreted a few pieces of the great composer, Gabriela Montero will revisit Bach's style in a new composition of her own and, of course, with vibrant improvisations.

OAKS is the result of the meeting between OneAction and Karuna-Shechen Switzerland (founded by Matthieu Ricard), two Geneva non-profit associations. Driven by a common passion for music and desire to work towards a more engaged and sustainable world, the two NGOs join their forces since 2017 in the form of a biennial charity concert, called "OAKS".

Renowned artist Gabriela Montero, who has been committed to human rights for many years, has chosen to share her talents as a pianist for the benefit of the two associations and their projects.

Several categories of tickets, starting from CHF 20, can be purchased on the city's website or FNAC.
