All UN Member States are reviewed every five years and it’s Saudi Arabia’s turn today. Tomorrow is China’s turn, followed by Mexico, Nigeria, Mauritius, Jordan, Malaysia and the Central African Republic throughout the week. Tune in to watch the Universal Periodic Reviews through the UN's live web portal; Web TV all this week.

Today, Monday 5th November, is World Tsunami Awareness Day. This year’s message is to raise awareness about the human impact of natural disasters AND the economic cost - 251,770 lives lost to tsunamis in last 20 years, $280 billion in losses.

Daniel also tells us about the Geneva Peace Week lunchtime event at the Palais which he'll be moderating (Tuesday 6th November; 12.30pm-2.30pm, room 24). It's all about engaging with young people for peace and the launch of a UN study on Youth, Peace and Security.

Finally there's a film screening of "A Rose in Winter" this Wednesday 7th November at 6pm. It's free and open to the public. Register here
