Animal care continues at the Bioparc Geneva
Tobias Blaha, Director at the Bioparc in Geneva, joined us to talk about the continued animal care for the animals at the zoo in Bellevue.
Throughout the period of lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic, the zoo understandably had to close. It will reopen again on June 8th. The Bioparc (formally known as Parc Challandes) normally depends on a team of volunteers as well as links with the supermarkets for surplus produce. Unfortunately both of these were unavailable during the lockdown, adding further strain.
Tobias also discusses the measures that will be applied at the zoo to keep people safe when they're free to reopen on June 8th...
