The start of September sees the ornamental grasses really coming into their own, and they will keep looking attractive for months to come. They are perfect for beginners, and Alex Monnet of Roussillon Fleurs in Meyrin on the outskirts of Geneva, takes us through some great choices for beginners. Pennisetum "Little Bunny", is tiny, only about 25cm tall and perfect for the front of a border or a pot, and Pennisetum "Hameln" at 50cm for the middle of a border or in a dramatic pot on its own.
These two pictures are from the RHS Hampton Court show, with "Tapestry" show garden and lots of attractive grasses blended into the mix, including some Pennisetum, of course!
