Getting inked this weekend at the Montreux Tattoo Convention

Mid Morning Mix // Art & Culture // Sept. 15, 2016

Strolling around the Montreux marina this weekend, you might just notice some folks with pretty incredible body art as tattoo artists and ink fans head to the Montreux Tattoo Convention over the next few days. Here's why...

Getting inked this weekend at the Montreux Tattoo Convention

Following the success of the first edition of the convention last year, this will be the second international Montreux Tattoo Convention, taking place over 3 days, Friday to Sunday.

Hosted at the Montreux Music & Convention Centre the site will fill its 6,000 square meters with around 150 tattoo artists and several thousand tattooed bodies and tattoo fans from around the world, all bought together by a passion for the ancient art of tattooing.

But there's not just tattoo art to see, but also live music and entertainment, including pin-up art, live jazz bands and a Burlesque night on the Saturday.

One artist who attended last year and looks forward to returning is Nico Cennamo from One Love Tattoo in Morges. He caught up with Katt on the Mid Morning Mix in the run up to the convention to discuss his shop, what he'll be up to at the convention over the weekend and whether Switzerland is really as reserved as it's reputation suggests. The answer may just surprise you....
