Dig It! // Gardening & Green Spaces// WRS// General // Nov. 25, 2019

Martin Schlaepfer is our guest on Dig It! this week, he's a senior lecturer at the Institute of Environmental Sciences at the University of Geneva, and has some great insights to share about what trees do for us.

If you would like to get out and about and see some remarkable trees, then the canton of Geneva makes it really easy. Did you know Geneva has more than 400 oaks classed as "champion trees"? If you live near Geneva, you can check out this interactive map to find one near you https://www.ville-geneve.ch/themes/environnement-urbain-espaces-verts/arbres/carte-interactive-arbres-genevois/

There are also some great books to help you find amazing trees near you Michel Brunner has several titles, including "Arbres GĂ©ants de Suisse" and "Wege zu Baumreisen" Roger Beer has a beautiful book called "Arbres remarquables" about trees in Geneva, including some great maps
