UNHCR Awake At Night: UNHCR stories from the field

What does it take to be a humanitarian worker in some of the world's most difficult and dangerous locations? To find out, the head of communication for the UNHCR, Melissa Fleming, meets them.

You can hear all the shows on the Awake at Night podcast page and on WRS every Tuesday at 8pm and then repeated at 1pm on Sundays.

Melissa came into the WRS studios to talk to Mark Butcher about her podcast and her recently released book. Check out the audio below to hear Melissa and Mark talk about about how stories have far more effect on people than statistics and discuss Melissa's book: the harrowing story of a woman fleeing the war in Syria, who was involved in a ship wreck in the Mediterranean and watched hundreds around her drown.

The book is called 'A Hope More Powerful than the Sea' and is now being produced as a movie by Steven Spielberg and JJ Abrams.
