Motoring On: Holiday motoring in a recreational vehicle
Swiss roads and recreational vehicles (RVs) may seem like a mismatch, but more and more mobile homes are plying the mountain country’s highways in the summer holiday season. WRS’s Susan Flory talks to Jonathan Hartop, of Aston Riviera Cars in Lausanne, and Emmanuel Stern, of The Pitstop garages in Geneva, about making the most of hitting the road in an RV. They discuss safe travel tips, as well as RV and camper van options such as the Hymer brand. The German make is under 3.5 tons, so it doesn’t require a special license to drive it:
