The National Council voted against hiking the price of the auto vignette or sticker to 100 francs, but they do want you to pay more.
Instead MPs want the price to go from 40 francs to 70 francs.
Most political parties supported the price hike to raise another 150 million francs for infrastructure.
The Swiss People’s Party argued unsuccessfully to keep the vignette price the same, claiming infrastructure needs could be covered with current finances.
Christian Democrat Viola Amherd argued for the 100 franc sticker price, claiming even at that rate, driving Swiss highways would be cheap compared to those abroad.
