Sharing water for peace in the Middle East
This weekend in Geneva, Palestinian and Israeli water experts sat down for the first time to hammer out a plan for sharing the precious resource. Experts say water is a major cause of the Middle East conflict. The Gaza Strip, for instance, has less than half the water recommended by the World Health Organization. The conference was organized in part by environmental development group Green Cross International. WRS met up with Green Cross president Alexander Likhotal outside the Geneva press club.
