Nuclear power plans stoke fiery debate
There has been angry reaction to a proposal to build a nuclear power station in the canton of Solothurn. Electricity company Atel has requested authorisation from the federal government to build the new plant in Niederamt. But Switzerland’s anti-nuclear lobby says it will launch a referendum against the plans. WRS’s Michele Mischler spoke to Bruno Pellaud of the Swiss Nuclear Forum and the Green Party’s Luc Recordon.
