English duo protests FIFA ban on poppies

The far right-wing English Defence League is staging a protest on the roof of the FIFA headquarters in Zurich against the decision to ban the wearing of red poppies on the pitch. Football’s world governing body, led by president Sepp Blatter, says that poppies fall inside the regulation that nothing commercial, political or religious should be displayed on strips. Friday marks Remembrance Day where people around the world wear red poppies in honour of everyone who has died in warfare. FIFA has responded by saying that to make an exception in this case would open the door to the wearing of other symbols from different countries. WRS’s Lucia Walton spoke to the EDL’s leader, Tommy Robinson, who told her they’re staying until they get their message across:
