Experiencing the world and finding interesting stories are invaluable to a journalist and Tony Ganzer has made that sentiment a mainstay of his travels. In Mexico, he paddled a canoe while reporting the story of an accidental wetland caused by wastewater from Arizona farms.
In Prague, he painted a picture of a place relatively unknown to the American audience. In Germany, he told the story of a guest worker program still influencing that country’s present day. Hailing from the northwest United States, Ganzer has reported for regional public radio networks, worked as a producer/reporter for the NPR station in Phoenix, and contributed to the BBC, PRI and National Public Radio.
Ganzer holds a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Media from the University of Idaho and worked in print and television news before finding a home in radio. In 2008, he was awarded the Arthur F. Burns fellowship and worked with Deutsche Welle Radio in Bonn. In 2009 he was awarded the Robert Bosch fellowship and worked for German and Bavarian public media.
