British climber dies on Mont Blanc
Man fell on 'corridor of death'A British man has fallen 1,000 feet to his death after scaling Mont Blanc. The 30-year old man had reached the summit and was descending via a route known as the ‘corridor of death’ when he lost his balance. Mountain rescue teams went to his aid but found him dead at the scene on Saturday morning. Police said the man was part of a group of nine who had climbed the mountain without a guide and were not roped together as they passed through the dangerous Gouter corridor. Around 100 people die on Mont Blanc each year.
